The Ford F-150 is an obvious choice for the best truck in winter weather thanks to its range of impressive powertrains, including one of our favorite turbodiesel engines on the market. The Ford F-150 comes standard with rear-wheel drive but can be equipped with four-wheel drive. A 10.8-inch ground clearance helps this truck navigate snowdrifts, while optional special tires help grip roads covered in ice or slush. With a bed that can carry more than 1100 pounds of payload and a max tow rating of up to 13,200 pounds when properly equipped, this truck is ready to haul you and your family—plus gear—through any weather.
The Honda Accord is an excellent all-around sedan with a comfortable cabin that feels like a luxury car. This midsize sedan also has a spacious trunk and plenty of room for passengers in the back seat. A turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine comes standard with front-wheel drive and continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). Incase you stay in an area where wintertime brings snow, ice, or rain, you can add optional all-wheel drive to this sedan at any trim level.
If you want to get a little more power out of your Accord, opt for the available turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, which produces 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. It’s mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Cars that offer traction, stability, and safety features are best engineered for harsh weather conditions.
